South London is one of the most important development areas for the sport of Rugby League in our region. Current Harlequins RL players Will Sharp, Lamont Bryan and Adam Janowski all either came through the original South London Storm juniors (now Croydon Hurricanes), or started their Rugby League career playing for Storm. The south London Service area looks after Schools and junior Rugby League. They cater for both boys and girls from 6 through to 16 and provide opportunities for all to participate through schools programmes and local junior clubs, Croydon Hurricanes, Brixton Bulls and South London Thunderbirds. At 16 players are able to join the South London Storm academy which caters for the under 18 age group and helps to fill the massive gap that can sometimes exist between junior and open age Rugby League.
