With Storm's last RLCP game of the year against Skolars being called off due to the North Londoners not being able to raise a team, the 2010 season has come to a premature end.
Both first and second grades missed out on the play offs by one position in what was a major rebuilding year for the club both on and off the pitch. The club would like to thanks all players, volunteers, partners and supporters for their efforts in 2010. We look forward to seeing you next year. |

BATTLING STORM DOWNED BY HOISTS |

South London Storm 18 Hammersmith Hill Hoists 52 Another battling performance from a young and inexperienced Storm team was not enough to gain the points against the Hills Hoists in Storm's last home game of the season. The Mitcham based club gave first team debuts to prop Chris Tabbrett and Winger Adam Hargrave and were boosted by the return of experienced centre Tom Pryor. Hammersmith took the lead in the first minute with a flowing move direct from the kick off but Storm regained their composure and despite the double blow of losing gun forwards Adam Hill and Ewen Drummond in the opening minutes, were able to post first half scores from Adam Tran and inspirational skipper Mike Benson, to unluckily go in 8-18 down at half time. The second half saw Storm tire but they will still able to add further tries from Lee McCarthy and Aaron Brown. The games highlight saw boom prop Dujon Thompson, who took on the Hoists pack single handly in the second half, made possibly the hit of the year on an unfortunate Hosts player. |

CENTURIONS TOO STRONG FOR STORM |

Storm 6 St Albans 60 Storm went down 60-6 to league leaders St. Albans in what was a game of two halves for the unfamiliar, yet industrious south London outfit.
After a promising start during which storm edged the opening exchanges, it was st Albans who crossed the whitewash first following a good flat ball from Adam Kal in the 8th minute.
Storm regathered themselves with strong running from imperious captain Mike Benson, however cents defensive line was well organised and held strong with the londoners unable to capitalise on well earnt field position on more than one occasion.
Upon regaining posesstion st Albans scored twice in quick sucession either side of the halfway mark after hitting good lines behind the ruck and exploiting some slack defensive work, leaving the score at 14-0.
Looking at going in at half time having drawn a blank, storm rallied. After a good drive from saner hasan and some probing from benson, the physical Adam hill drove over from close range. |

South London Storm's finals aspirations suffered a double blow as both grades suffered defeats that sent them tumbling out of the top 4 play off positions. Storm first team lost a thrilling match at Eastern Rhinos 22-30 despite scores from Billy Osborne, Andrew Vernon, Aaron Brown, David Wojceiechowicz and Pete Maddigan. Despite three early scores the visitors were never comfortable and a physical Rhinos team were able to finally grind them down with two tries in the last 8 minutes. Strong performances from Matt Smith, Matt Chapman and the outstanding Mike Benson hint at better days for a very young Storm squad who now face an up hill struggle to reach the finals series. Storm 'A' suffered a heavy 6-64 home defeat to Greenwich Admirals. the only try coming from the returning Dave Aylmer who was also man of the match. |

RLCP South London Storm 50 Hainault Bulldogs 42
Four tries in the last fifteen minutes saw South London Storm battle back from a 28-42 deficit to stun Hainault Bulldogs in an end to end encounter at a scorching hot Poulter Park
Storm started off brightly and forced a Bulldogs error from the kick off through a crunching hit from Ewen Drummond. They were unable to take advantage though and after four minutes the indiscipline that has haunted their season so far was again in evidence. The home team conceeded three consecutive penalties to piggy bank the Bulldogs up the pitch. The visitors took advantage through an Elric Newby try.
Storm were level within three minutes through a Pete Maddigan try. The decision to run the ball on the last tackle was vindicated as Owain Rhodda released Maddigan to score under the posts. McCarthy added the extras to tie the game up at six all. |
