South London Storm Sponsorship Opportunities 2009

Heritage shirt sponsorship 

Each May South London Rugby League host the “Stormin’ Saturday” festival which celebrates the impact of Rugby League in our region from under 7’s through to open age. 

That day will see the first team wearing a ‘Heritage’ Jersey for their Rugby League Conference Premier South fixture. 

The Jersey will be worn as a one off and will be based on the one worn by the South London Storm 2002 Rugby League Conference shield winning team. 

The 2002 Rugby League Conference Shield was the first trophy ever won by the club. Bedford Swifts were the other finalists and Storm ran away to a 54-2 victory. 

Notable players that day included current squad member Carl Zacharow, Welsh Rugby League development manager Caro Wild who scored a hat-trick, and current London Skolars outside back Corey Simms. 

That victory set the club off on a run of seven years of outstanding success including two RLCP South titles, two RLCP National titles, an appearance in the 1st round of the Challenge Cup and a London League triumph. 

Only two sets of Heritage jerseys will be made, the first set will be worn by the playing squad and auctioned to raise funds for the club, the second set will be given to individual shirt sponsors for the day. 

That’s right, Storm are looking for individuals and organisations to sponsor the Heritage kit.  

The shirts will be numbered from 1-18 and a donation of £50 will get yours or your organisations name on the back of one of the shirts, and you will also get one to keep at the end of the day.

Sponsorship will be allocated by shirt number and done on a first come first served basis.

Player sponsorship 

South London Storm are looking for player sponsors for their first and second team for the 2009 season. 

This is the perfect opportunities for friends, families and employers to get behind individual players and the club  at an affordable price. 

For £50 each player sponsor will receive a club polo shirt and have their name (and / or organisations web site) publicised throughout the year at www.stormrl.com and in the special commemorative Stormin’ Saturday brochure.

Players can of course have more than one sponsor and we offer discounts to individuals and organisations looking to sponsor more than one player.

Senior Teams
 
South London Storm are looking for partners to support their first and ‘A’ grade teams for the 2009 season.
 
The first team compete in Rugby League conference premier south and have been finalists for the last two years after winning the competition in 2005 and 2006.
 
The ‘A’ team compete in the London Amateur Rugby League which is a development competition for new clubs and second teams in the London Area. After winning the competition in 2006 Storm reached the play offs in 2007 and 2008.
 
The club receive extensive local coverage through the Croydon Advertiser, Croydon Guardian and South London press, Wide coverage in the London Rugby League community and regular National Coverage via the Rugby League trade press including the weekly Rugby League Express and the monthly published Rugby League world.

South London Storm Academy (Under 18’s)
 
The South London Storm Academy is a new venture for 2009 which seeks to provide Opportunities for the 16 to 18 age group to Continue to participate in competitive Rugby League within a club environment.
 
The academy will consist of players moving up from Croydon Hurricanes under 16 squad as well as those who have been recruited from the new South London Colleges League which will also launch in 2009.
 
As well as the opportunity to progress their Rugby League career, players will also be given the chance to gain qualifications in coaching and sports leadership to help them potentially work towards a career in sport.
