South London Storm's finals aspirations suffered a double blow as both grades suffered defeats that sent them tumbling out of the top 4 play off positions.

Storm first team lost a thrilling match at Eastern Rhinos 22-30 despite scores from Billy Osborne, Andrew Vernon, Aaron Brown, David Wojceiechowicz and Pete Maddigan.

Despite three early scores the visitors were never comfortable and a physical Rhinos team were able to finally grind them down with two tries in the last 8 minutes.

Strong performances from Matt Smith, Matt Chapman and the outstanding Mike Benson hint at better days for a very young Storm squad who now face an up hill struggle to reach the finals series.

Storm 'A' suffered a heavy 6-64 home defeat to Greenwich Admirals. the only try coming from the returning Dave Aylmer who was also man of the match.
