South London Storm 18 Hammersmith Hill Hoists 52 Another battling performance from a young and inexperienced Storm team was not enough to gain the points against the Hills Hoists in Storm's last home game of the season. The Mitcham based club gave first team debuts to prop Chris Tabbrett and Winger Adam Hargrave and were boosted by the return of experienced centre Tom Pryor. Hammersmith took the lead in the first minute with a flowing move direct from the kick off but Storm regained their composure and despite the double blow of losing gun forwards Adam Hill and Ewen Drummond in the opening minutes, were able to post first half scores from Adam Tran and inspirational skipper Mike Benson, to unluckily go in 8-18 down at half time. The second half saw Storm tire but they will still able to add further tries from Lee McCarthy and Aaron Brown. The games highlight saw boom prop Dujon Thompson, who took on the Hoists pack single handly in the second half, made possibly the hit of the year on an unfortunate Hosts player. Storm end the season away at London Skolars next saturday. line up - David Wojceiechowicz, Aaron Brown, Chris Beaven, Paul Wojceiechowicz, Jim Berry, Lee McCarthy, Adam Hill, Phil Berry, Adam Tran, Shun Tamura, Ewen Drummond, Mike Benson. subs - Andrew Vernon, Craig Montero, Chris Tabrett, Adam Hargrave, Dujon Thompson, Saner Hasan, Dave Aylmer |
