The club, with the assistance of tireless volunteers and parents has one of the largest youth development programs of any club in any sport in the UK - employing four community sports coaches to run a program that now includes 20 junior level teams under the club banner (within 6 feeder clubs: Brixton Bulls, Croydon Hurricanes, Thornton Heath Tornadoes. Wandsworth Whilrwinds, Addington Lightning and new for 2009 our girls team the South London Thunderbirds), and a total involvement of over 60 schools encompassing 90 teams in the region - touching a total of over 6000 junior players per year.
In 2006, the club fielded 8 junior players in its senior sides who had progressed from the junior programme. While a further 10 players turned out for South London's own U21s side. From the club's development programme, two players were drafted to semi-professional National League 2 clubs, one to Super League club Hull KR, three to the Harlequins RL Foundation Academy (U16s) and six to the Harlequins U18s Academy, and a further four players into the Harlequins U21s (Reserve grade) side.
2007 saw further development at Schools level with over 6000 juniors involved in various programmes.
26 players were part of the RFL performance pathway.
2008 is set to see the programme grow again as the club develops programmes in Wandsworth, Sutton and Merton.
